2011 Top 10 List

It seems rather futile to try to compare artistic releases when putting together one of these best ofs, especially when it's cross-genre. I don't see how it could ever be anything other than a completely arbitrary compilation of half-remembered albums that struck you as somehow above the pale during at least one of the 365 days that made up this past year. I love a lot of things I come across and I don't really think it's necessary to numerically quantify that in some objective ordering, as if one could definitively say that such-and-such drone cassette was precisely 3 albums better than another one. Even if the list is non-sequential, a work's inclusion or exclusion from a list effectively creates the same phenomenon. That being said, I have meticulously compiled the following Top 50 list in sequential order using advanced mathematical analysis to create the definitive Best of 2011 List. If an album doesn't appear on here that means it was bad and terrible and you should probably feel bad about even thinking about it to begin with. All numbers are completely official and the corresponding artist will be receiving their ranking engraved on a commemorative dinner plate.
